Wild Shampoo & Conditioner Set Review

Wild Refill is continuing its refill revolution by expanding its range into haircare, with shampoo and conditioner now available in their own super-chic aluminium cases-for-life.

How to Use

Dampen your hair and apply the required amount of shampoo to your hands before massaging it into your scalp to create a lather. Rinse thoroughly, then apply the conditioner to the lengths and ends of your hair. Leave for a few minutes before rinsing and styling as usual.

My Review of the Wild Shampoo & Conditioner Set

Firstly, I absolutely love the smell of this shampoo and conditioner. For some reason, the scent takes me straight back to my childhood, it smells natural, fresh and really comforting.

I found that the shampoo lathered really well and left my hair feeling clean without feeling stripped. After using it, my hair also felt like it had a little more thickness to it, which I really liked.

I found I needed to use more pumps of the conditioner than the shampoo, and I left it on my hair for a few minutes before rinsing. This helped leave my hair feeling soft and easier to manage. Once I had blow-dried and straightened my hair, it felt soft and noticeably thicker.

The refill system and aluminium cases are a great idea, although I did find one small issue: it isn’t immediately obvious which case contains the shampoo and which contains the conditioner. I eventually worked out that I could tell by looking at the pump, if there is no product visible, it’s the shampoo, whereas the conditioner is white.

This could potentially become a little confusing if you also have Wild’s body wash in a case of the same colour, as it may be harder to tell the products apart at a glance.

Overall, I really like this shampoo and conditioner. I love the nostalgic scent, the shampoo lathers well and I really like the thicker feel it gives my hair after styling.

My only downside is that I don’t think it is moisturising enough for my hair to use every day, so I’d probably alternate it with a more moisturising shampoo and conditioner.

REDKEN Acidic Color Gloss Hair Routine Review

Some of us may have heard the term ‘glass-like skin’, but how about glass-like hair! Well, REDKEN has come out with a range of hair products that apparently give you exactly that – glass-like hair, and it’s called REDKEN Acidic Color Gloss!

Packaging

I have been sent miniature travel sized versions of the REDKEN Acidic Color Gloss Sulphate-Free Shampoo, Activated Glass Gloss Treatment, Conditioner and Heat Protectant Treatment. These are all packaged in black bottles with an eye-catching metallic pink label.

There is an open jar symbol on the back of the shampoo, conditioner, and gloss, which indicates how long the product will stay good after it has been opened. The shampoo and conditioner show 12M, meaning that they will be good to use for 12 months, and the gloss shows 18M, so it will be good for 18 months. There was nothing showing for the heat protectant spray.

Ingredients

Some of the main ingredients contained within all of these hair products include:

  • Vitamin E: Helps to repair damaged hair, improving elasticity and shine.
  • Arginine: Strengthens hair and protects it against damage.
  • Serine: Provides intense conditioning to help strengthen hair.
  • Glutamic Acid: Helps to promote hair growth.

How to Use

Apply the shampoo to wet hair, lather, and rinse. Apply the Glass Gloss Treatment to towel-dried hair and leave for 5-10 minutes. Layer on top the conditioner and leave for a few minutes, then rinse. Finally, apply the heat protection spray to clean, damp hair and style!

Honest Review

Review of the NEW Redken Acidic Color Gloss Haircare Routine

These products were nice to use and definitely left my hair looking smooth and shiney, but I’m not sure about the ‘glass-like shine’!

Once I started blow drying my hair, my hair did feel a bit heavy, but once my hair was thoroughly dry, my hair felt very nice and lightweight. My hair wasn’t at all weighed down by product, and even on the second day, my hair was still looking as good as day one.

The only thing I am never too keen on is heat protection sprays. My personal preference is to use a heat protection serum as I am never sure about where I am spraying and if I am getting enough coverage.

An Honest Review

I have never used hair perfume before, but the idea of it has definitely appealed to me. The smell of this honey infused hair perfume with wild rose smells so sweet and is absolutely gorgeous. The smell lasted all day and gave my hair a lovely, shiney finish without weighing it down.

Cantu Shampoo & Conditioner for Scalp Relief

Whenever I think of Cantu hair products, I always think of the stuff I used to buy for my little girls curly hair – it was amazing at taming her wild curls. I never thought of a shampoo for scalp relief or even a conditioner for scalp relief!

Both the shampoo and conditioner contain antioxidant-rich actives such as:

  • Guava, which is a hydrating tropical fruit
  • Ginger, which has soothing properties and strengthens the hair
  • Apple Cider Vinegar, which helps with exfoliating
  • Tea Tree, which is an essential oil that soothes the scalp.

The Cantu shampoo also contains salicylic acid. This helps to remove excess oil, reducing inflammation and scalp acne. Perfect for what I wanted!

My Hair Issues

This shampoo and conditioner has come at an ideal time, as my scalp seems to be having a breakout of spots. I wash my hair daily, and I assume what I was using didn’t agree with my scalp!

Recommended Use

It is recommended to use this shampoo and conditioner twice a week, washing your hair twice when using the shampoo.

My Final Thoughts

The smell of this shampoo and conditioner is lovely and refreshing, and once applied to the hair, you could really feel the tea tree working on the scalp.

The shampoo lathers up really well, and being someone who washes their hair every day, I didn’t need to wash my hair a second time. When I rinsed off the shampoo, I was expecting it to feel squeaky clean, but I guess the shampoo must coat the hair, which is what would help with the curls.

The conditioner was lovely and creamy and made my hair feel very nourished and soft, which is very important to me as I do wash my hair daily.

Although it’s early days yet, I have found that the Cantu scalp relief shampoo and conditioner has taken the inflammation down on my scalp. So I have high hopes that this will help with my scalp acne.

The Cantu shampoo and conditioner is definitely a great combo. The shampoo made my scalp feel refreshed, and the conditioner made each strand of hair feel moisturised and nourished.

MooGoo Natural Protein Shot Leave-In Hair Conditioner

The MooGoo Natural Protein Shot Leave-In Hair Conditioner is a silicone-free leave-in conditioner that helps protect the hair fibers and revitalise the hairs natural protective layer.

I apply this to my daughters hair after using the MooGoo shampoo and conditioner once it’s towel dry. Just to give her hair that extra boost of moisture and to help with brushing her hair.

Smells lovely, just like the other MooGoo products, and feels as though it protects the hair strands / ends. I do find that it feels weighty when it’s first applied to the hair, but the next day / morning, the hair feels nice and smooth, and there appears to be no build-up of product.
