Here are some of my top picks that I tried and tested in November 2024, which includes some of my favourite brands such as Wonderskin, Murad, and Paula’s Choice.
1. Wonderskin FYP Filter Powder
This genius 3-in-1 pressed powder was literally designed with all your angles (and issues) in mind. Use alone, with zero makeup or over any makeup brand to watch it “photoshop” away the look of lines and pores and absorb shine with zero cakiness. This weightless blurring, mattifying, makeup-setting formula literally floats on your face, diffusing light and giving that stunning, real-life-filter finish that lasts all day. And thanks to its mess-free, talc-free, translucent shade, it works like magic on all skin tones.

1. Wonderskin Wonder Blading Brow Stain & Go Masque
The Wonderskin Wonder Blading Brow Stain & Go Masque is a patented liquid blading technology that uses treated pigments and dyes to hyper-stain brows for long-lasting, natural looking colour. It provides 48 hours of wear, and the colour won’t transfer onto clothes or other surfaces, won’t fade or budge, and is waterproof so will never run.
The ICONIC London Radiance Booster is a multi-tasking sheer complexion perfector that can be used to boost the look of bare skin, mixed with your daily moisturiser or layered underneath makeup for lit-from-within radiance.
The Bare With Me Serum Concealer is a water-based liquid formula packed with skin loving ingredients like tremella mushroom, cica extract, and green tea. It’s hydrating, light weight, and suitable for all skin types.
Erythrulose (a botanical alternative to DHA), and Caramel, Marrakech Sun gives a natural-looking tan instantly, and can be gradually layered to build a deeper bronze across all skin tones, without stickiness or that tell-tale tanning scent.
I was lucky to have been gifted by the Superdrug Community, the MUA Neon Lights Collection, and a few other bits from the MUA cosmetics range. So, I decided to do a few makeup looks using these.
What more can I say about the e.l.f Cosmetics Power Grip Primer that hasn’t already been said all over social media!
My problem with foundation was that it would separate around my chin area and look patchy, never stayed in place. I had changed skincare routines and foundations with no success. Then I figured, maybe it’s my primer! I have tried a lot of primers – from drug store brands to expensive brands, but this primer has to be the best primer I have come across.
I first saw the e.l.f Power Grip Primer on Instagram. I think it may have actually been an e.l.f Cosmetics post. The video was of a girl showing the consistency of the primer and then placing items on her face to show the stickiness of the primer.
Being a member of the online Superdrug Community, I was able to get other peoples opinions of this primer, and feedback was really good, so I had to go out and get this sticky primer.
After purchasing from Superdrug, I used it straight away the next morning. I was expecting the primer to be uncomfortably sticky, which it wasn’t. Yes, I did purchase something that I thought would be uncomfortable, but I needed to find my perfect primer
The primer is a gel-like consistency and went on really well. The recommended waiting time between primer application and foundation was short, only about 30 seconds! Applying the foundation on top of this primer was easy – it just glided on.
My foundation stayed put all day, and even when swapping between foundation brands (I’ve built up a bit of a collection), there were still no issues with foundation splitting around my chin area.
This is definitely my number 1 primer, and I would highly recommend anyone to try it. It’s inexpensive but highly effective!
