As part of Skeepers, I was gifted the Sunday Riley U.F.O Ultra-Clarifiying Facial Oil to test and review.

Who is Sunday Riley?

Focusing on green technology within skincare, Sunday Riley launched her brand in 2009 and uses active ingredients and science-based formulas to create the highest quality skincare products. The brand is cruelty-free, vegetarian, and most of the formulas are vegan (the exception being the use of honey and beeswax).

Sunday Riley is also a big advocate for sustainability, human rights, diversity, and equal opportunities within the workplace.

Product Benefits

This Ultra-Clarifiying Facial Oil (U.F.O.) contains three key ingredients to help give clearer, smoother, and blemish-free skin:

• Salicylic acid, which helps to clear congested pores as well as treating and preventing blemishes.
• Tea Tree Oil and Black Cumin Seed Oil which helps to purify the skin and support clarity.
• Licorice Root and Hexylresorcinol used to naturally brighten the appearance of dark spots.

Initial Thoughts

The whole packaging looks really smart, from the quality of the box and the way you open it to the look of the bottle and labelling.

The colour of the oil itself took me a bit by surprise, I actually thought it was the bottle that was green, but in actual fact, it’s the oil.

The oil is of a very loose consistency, and it’s hard to control the amount of oil dispensed from the dropper, so you will need to be aware of this when using it.

The smell of the oil is very different. I can’t quite put my finger on the actual scent, but maybe it’s the liquorice and tea tree oil that really stands out!

How to Use

I used this face oil morning and night, after cleansing and drying my skin.

I applied a couple drops of the oil to my fingertips and then gently massaged into my skin. Leaving it to soak in for a few minutes, I then applied my moisturiser.

Final Verdict

I have been using this ultra-clarifying face oil for about 10 days now and can honestly say that it has done an amazing job at keeping acne at bay. There have been a couple of occasions whilst using this oil, where I could feel the discomfort of a spot coming, but the spot never actually surfaced.

As you can see from the above before photo, I had a nasty spot on my right cheek that had been there a sometime, but after using the oil for a few days, this spot quickly went down.

I do rate this clarifying oil quote highly and will actually continue using it to see what long term affects will come of it.
